It would be cool if there was a feed displayed on a user's Author Page that shows what papers they have read. It would be even cooler if the user had the option to rate the paper from 1-5 stars or something.
We could have some kind of reminder to as the user if they read the paper maybe a day or two after they downloaded. We wouldn't want to be incessantly emailing people obviously, but some kind of periodic notification about this feature.
I do think it should be optional for users to either show or hide their Reading List on their Author Page, and also to show or hide individual papers on the list. (They should have to mark a paper as "Read" in order for it to show on the list because likely people download papers and may not always read them, or not for a while, so it should not just be counted the same as a download.) And users should be able to manually add in papers from the eLibrary that maybe they weren't logged in when they downloaded, or maybe they read it somewhere else but they know it is also posted on SSRN.
And then we could show the number of times a paper has been marked as "Read" on the abstract pages! Maybe even a "Want to Read" count similar to Goodreads? Or count how many "My Library"s the paper has been added to.
